HKUST Business School and Tsinghua University’s PBC School of Finance (PBCSF) recently entered into a strategic partnership, aiming to cultivate high-caliber talent and advance finance and technology education in the region.
On November 2, a signature BizInsight Forum co-hosted by both parties in Beijing kick-started the strategic collaboration. Titled “The Future and Innovation Forum”, the event brought together academia leaders and industry professionals for a dynamic exchange of ideas.
Keynote speakers, including Dean of Tsinghua Weixian College Prof. HONG Bo (left), Dean of HKUST Academy of Interdisciplinary Studies Prof. QU Huamin (middle), and CEO of New Frontier Health and United Family Healthcare Mr. Carl WU (right), explored cutting-edge topics such as the breakthroughs in brain-computer interface technology, AI-driven interdisciplinary innovation, and the application of AI technologies in the healthcare industry. Two engaging panel sessions also gathered leaders to discuss pivotal advancements in life sciences and the transformative impact of AI in business.
Moderated by HKUST’s Associate Dean (Strategic Planning and Research) Prof. LOU Dong (first right), the first panel discussed how technology and data integration drive healthcare innovation and balance privacy with personalized care. The speakers were Prof. Hong Bo (first left); Founder of Shenzhen XpectVision Technology Co., LTD Mr. CAO Peiyan (second right); Chairman of Hinova Pharma Mr. CHEN Yuanwei (second left); and Mr. Carl Wu (middle).
The second panel, led by Assistant of the Dean of Tsinghua PBCSF Prof. LIU Bibo (first right), focused on AI ethics, cloud-AI integration, and future trends in AI investment and commercial applications. The speakers were 4Paradigm’s Co-founder Mr. HU Shiwei (second right); Managing Director of Lenovo Capital and Incubator Group Ms. Cindy LIANG (middle); VP of Inspur Group Mr. LIU Hui (second left); and Prof. Qu Huamin (first left).
