New Frontier Health has acquired a controlling stake in Care Alliance, a Chengdu based healthcare operator that focuses on rehabilitation and post-acute health services in China. Care Alliance will also become New Frontier’s major healthcare investment platform.

Care Alliance is established by Mr. Albert Xu and Mr. Shuai Yuan.

Mr Xu previously worked at Blackstone’s Private Equity Group in Shanghai and Hong Kong, responsible for the assessment, execution and management of investment opportunities in Greater China. Before joining Blackstone, Mr. Xu worked at the investment banking division of Deutsche Bank in New York.

Mr. Yuan previously worked at Morgan Stanley Private Equity Asia, leading the assessment, execution and management of healthcare investment opportunities in Asia, including privatization of public hospitals and acquisition and set-up of rehabilitation hospitals. Prior to Morgan Stanley Private Equity Asia, Mr. Yuan worked in Morgan Stanley Investment Banking Division.

Care Alliance will invest and operate rehabilitation hospitals, geriatric hospitals, elderly hospitals, community nursing stations, and rehabilitation clinics for adults and children, and to provide home and telemedicine services; providing optimal allocation of medical resources, delivering better healthcare outcomes.
